Tyler Burke

Tyler Joe Burke, 43, of Rushville, passed away at 3:25 PM, Sunday, December 26, 2021, at his home.

He was born on April 22, 1978, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, the son of Joe and Terri (Bartlow) Burke.

Surviving are his parents of Rushville, his sister Alison McLean and husband Tim of Girard,   brother Chris Burke and wife Beth of Ojai, California, his nephews and nieces Tanner Wilson, Cooper Wilson, Carly McLean, Avery Burke and Dillon Burke, maternal grandmother Shirley Bartlow of Rushville, uncles and aunts Mike Burke and wife Rita of Rushville, Patti Welch and husband Don of Macomb, Kathy Burton and husband Paul and Mike Bartlow and wife Julie all of Rushville and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Byron Bartlow and paternal grandparents Roy Burke and Verna Burke and his beloved companion, his dog Dapada.

Tyler was a 1996 graduate of Rushville High School.  While attending college in Champaign, he and his friends began a band they called Whig.  He would return to Rushville and begin learning the craft of cabinet making.  He practiced this talent for several years in St. Louis.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rushville.  When he was younger, he would stop by his mom’s classroom after school to raid her candy drawer. He was a talented artist in both ink drawings and oil painting and loved to write poetry.  He loved music and enjoyed playing both the electric and acoustic guitars.  He was a loving uncle who adored his nephews and nieces and was very close to his sister and brother.  He and his dad shared special times fishing and mushroom hunting.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.  Memorials are suggested to the Schuyler County Humane Society.
