Tari Runyan

February 25, 1955 — July 15, 2019

Therese P. “Tari” Runyan, 64, of Rushville, passed away at 5:00 AM, Monday, July 15, 2019, at her home. She was born on February 25, 1955, in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Leonard and Rose (Macken) Prager.  She married James Runyan on September 8, 1989, in Friday Harbor, Washington and he survives.

Also surviving are three children Dane LaRiviere and wife Leslie Anne of Utica, Michigan, Aspen LaRiviere and significant other Levi Severns of Puyallup, Washington, and Ayesha Nicole Runyan and husband Mahmood Akhtar of Fishers, Indiana, seven grandchildren Hazel and Sawyer LaRiviere and Humza, Zakariya, Zayd, and Maryam Akhtar, and Delaney Severns, six siblings Dan Prager of Phoenix, Arizona, Laura Prager and wife Cheryl Jennings of San Francisco, California, David Prager and Linda Prager both of Friday Harbor, Washington, Mary Roberts of    Washington and Catherine Theriault of Phoenix, Arizona, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Tari graduated from Marian High School in San Diego, California and St. Mary’s College of California, in Moraga, California, with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Pre-Med.

She first worked as a biologist for the State of Washington.  She then worked as a Student Loan Clerk for San Juan County Bank, an Escrow Officer in the State of Washington and as an Election Supervisor for San Juan County, California.  She then began her career with election supply companies ending as an Operation Director with the Diebold Company.  She then operated her own company Runyan Enterprises, offering consulting services to election officials throughout the United States, retiring in 2015.

She was a volunteer biologist at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Refuge in Commerce City, Colorado.  She was of the Catholic Faith.  She enjoyed gardening, reading and caring for her cats.

There will be no public services at this time.  The family suggest memorials to Friends of the Front Range Wildlife Refuges, 6550 Gateway Rd., Commerce City, CO, 80022.
