Robert "Bob" Bonser

Robert W. Bonser, 77, of Livonia, Michigan, formerly of Rushville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019, at the Angela Hospice Center in Livonia.

He was born on December 21, 1941, in Vandalia, Illinois, the son of Reverend Wayne and Lily (Brown) Bonser. He married Carol Tyson in February 1964.

Surviving are his wife Carol, four children Michael Bonser and wife Robyn of Dearborn, Michigan, Randall Bonser and Benita of Atlanta, Georgia, Sheryl Smith and husband Brad of Audubon, Pennsylvania, and Renea Gailey and husband Russell of Utica, Michigan, 11 grandchildren Luke, Joel, Sophia, Zachary, Madeleine, Elijah, Mairi, Isaiah, Samantha, Mitchell, and Kaitlyn, two sisters Carol Gordillo and husband Ed of Decatur and Jan Vancil and husband John of Rushville, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He worked for over 44 years at Ford Motor Company, retiring in 2008 as a robot repairman.  He enjoyed golfing and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers.

A memorial celebration will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, December 6, 2019, at Rushville Free Methodist Church, with Reverend Rosalee Ross speaking. Interment will be in the Rushville City Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Rushville Free Methodist Church, Angela Hospice Center in Livonia, or World Vision International.
