Mary Sutton

May 27, 1941 — December 14, 2020

Mary Lou Sutton, 79, of Rushville, passed away at 5:10 PM, Monday, December 14, 2020, at the Elms in Macomb.

She was born on May 27, 1941, in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of William David “Willie” and Elizabeth (Turner) Prater.  She married Rusty Sutton in 1996 in Lewistown and he survives.

Also surviving are two sons Daniel Mangold and wife Barb of Frederick and John Mangold and companion Susan Manker of Rushville, three step sons Brian Sutton and wife Tammy of Kentucky, Brent Sutton of Clayton and Jeff Sutton of Missouri, 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one sister Juanita Akers and husband Hank of Industry, a step brother Larry Guthrie of Monmouth, her mother-in-law Juanita Oitker of Quincy and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Ruth Prater, two daughters Karen Gossage and Hannah Slinker, one son James Mangold, Jr., two sisters Wilma Haenitsch and Helen Hendrix, two step sisters Goldie Irene Hedrick and Bernice and two step brothers Cletus Hedrick and Clyde Hedrick.

Mary first worked in the housekeeping department at Astoria Gardens Nursing Home in Astoria.  Later she worked in the dietary department of Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville and retired in 2008 from the housekeeping department.

She enjoyed growing flowers, collecting dolls and going to the gambling boat.  The only thing she loved more than dancing were her grandkids.

Private Services will be held at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with Pastor Jason Triplett officiating.  Interment will follow in the Littleton Cemetery in Littleton.  Memorials are suggested to Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation or PLAY.
