Lloyd Hale

Lloyd H. Hale, 97, of Camden, passed away at 1:00 AM, Friday, December 18, 2020, at the Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rushville.

He was born on January 27, 1923, in Camden Township, Schuyler County, Illinois. He was the eldest son of Homer L. and Lola Frieda (Taylor) Hale.  He married Florence Evelyn McClelland on December 20, 1941. She preceded him in death in 2013.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna Sue Skiles of Normal, Illinois and Doris Jean Agans of Camden, Illinois, Five grandchildren, Suzette Skiles Rice of Rushville, Cherie Skiles of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Heather Agans and Haley (Chad) Kelly of Rushville and Christopher Bollinger of Worthington, Minnesota, six great grandchildren, Andrew Rice, Mallory Bowman, Katie Bollinger, Ashley Bollinger, Lance Kelly and Paxton Kelly, two Sisters-in-Law JoAnn Hale of Berwick, Illinois and Carol McClelland of Arkansas, Brother-in-Law Vernon Greene of Bellville, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Leigh Ann Bollinger, great- granddaughter Hannah Brooke Agans Barnewolt, son-in-law Rodney R. Skiles, brother, Donald Hale and sister Rubie Trone.

He was a Rushville High School Class of 1941 graduate, a charter member of the local FFA chapter, member of the Rushville First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and a lifelong farmer. Lloyd was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching Western movies and had his own quick draw moves. He enjoyed target practice with his grandkids well into his 90s. His beloved cat, Big Boy, provided him great companionship later in life.

Services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 21, 2020, at the Wood Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Rucker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery. An informal visitation without the family present will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday, December 21, 2020, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.  Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) or the Schuyler County Humane Society.
