Gloria Ellen Keller, 78, of Colchester, passed away at 9:15 AM, Thursday, November 11, 2021, at her home.
She was born on January 27, 1943, in Rushville, the daughter of Murlen Walter and Mary Virginia (Phillips) Croxton. She married Russell Glen “Red” Keller on March 10, 1961, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2005.
Surviving are four children Michelle Stambaugh and husband Ricky of Astoria, Rosa Keller of Colchester, Teresa Hembree and husband Raymond of Macomb, and Daniel Keller and Dora of Rushville, 11 grandchildren Sarah Lamm, David Stambaugh and wife Nikki, Beth Beatty and husband Dale, Eva Brown, Adam Brown and wife Faith, Marcus Hembree, Terry Hembree and wife Bailey, Russell Hembree, Ryan Hembree, , Adam Weishaar and wife Brittney and Matthew Keller and wife Raelynn, fifteen great grandchildren with another on the way, two sisters Donna Boyd of Rushville and Marylan Johnson of Macomb, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six sisters Pauline Toland, Doris Maxine Rockwell, Dora Grace Miller, Helen June Payne, Nancy Jane Croxton and Alice Zaborac, two brothers Richard Lloyd Croxton and Murlen Eugene Croxton.
Gloria earned an Associates Degree in Office Technology from Spoon River College.
She spent much of her life as a stay-at-home mom, but also worked at Nixon Tax Service in Macomb and Milby’s Drugstore in Vermont.
Gloria was a member of the Church of Christ (Christian) in Rushville. She enjoyed painting and was always ready to play cards. She learned at a very young age the value of family and was a caretaker her entire life.
Services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with Pastor Jason Hamm officiating. Interment will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, November 15, 2021, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville. Memorials are suggested to the Colchester Rescue Squad.
